Fancy Fast Food
Does that pickle look familiar? Yeah … it’s from McDonald’s. My fast food hardly even makes it back to the office! (The fries rarely make it out of the parking lot.)

This website – FancyFastFood.com – does “extreme makeovers” on your average drive thru food. As they say at FFF, “Yeah, it’s still bad for you – but see how good it can look!”
HA!

BTW – Please remember that I have no control over what they might post on this site. I’ve looked it over and I think we’ll be okay … but it never hurts to mention it.
This seems a little bit messed up … your thoughts?
This kid doesn’t seem to have done anything wrong, from what I can see. What do you think?

From WMTW -
STANDISH, Maine — Justin Denney’s family watched on as he ascended the Cumberland County Civic Center stage during graduation Friday night to accept his diploma, but the superintendent told him to return to his seat.
I love Skittles!
Some friends stopped by today to show me and Jolie their new Sugar Glider, Skittles. It’s the cutest little animal! Think of her as a tiny flying squirrel … who lives in your house.

(That’s not really her, it’s a photo I borrowed from the internet!)
Now I want one! Click here to read about Sugar Gliders. So cute!

Just what this world needs: Caffeinated Popcorn
Seriously? Aren’t movie snacks already bad enough for you? Blech!

Caffeinated Popcorn Keeps Movie Buffs Buzzed
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (Wireless Flash – FlashNews) – A new brand of popcorn promises to keep you from dozing off in the middle of a movie.
Buzz Popcorn is a microwave popcorn laced with caffeine meant to give folks a jolt similar to the effects of a soda.
Richard Davis created the snack after seeing too many people fall asleep in the middle of watching movies and figures it’s time something other than soft drinks gives people a buzz.
The caffeine is combined with salt crystals so the popcorn tastes normal, but Davis assures there’s not enough in there to get addicted.
Still, parents should give the popcorn to their kids in moderation, so they’re not bouncing off the walls right before bedtime.
The product will be made in the old Orville Redenbacher plant, and Davis thinks the popcorn legend’s ghost will be pleased.
Davis believes this is the key to getting the popcorn industry popping again, and other manufacturers will follow suit.
Night at the Museum – is it for you?
Just got back from my vacation. I meant to blog some while I was gone but I barely had any internet access … which was actually really nice.
It’s good to have a break, right?
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian had a HUGE weekend at the box office last weekend. It’s geared largely at kids but from what I hear the grownups are digging it too! I would recommend that before you take your kids to see it you check out the Plugged In review about it. There are a few things you might want to know before you head to the theater and Plugged In does a really good job of letting you know exactly what to expect as far as “adult” jokes, bad language and the like. Here is the link! (Be warned, they do include some plot spoilers in there reviews but it’s a really great resource.)
I haven’t seen the movie … if you have please let me know what you thought!
Have a great week!

Help Stamp Out Hunger on May 9th
You can help feed a hungry family without even leaving your house! (Okay, technically you might have to leave your house – but you won’t have to go past the driveway. For reals.)
This Saturday when the post office delivers mail to your house they will also be picking up bags of non-perishable foods to donate to a local food bank.
Don’t forget to do your part by leaving some groceries by your mailbox! They’re looking for non-perishable items like canned soup, veggies and tuna, bottles of juice and boxes of cereal and crackers. It’s THIS SATURDAY so please don’t forget. Click here to know more!
Wolverine Joins Third Day!

Click here to see all of the photos of the newest Third Day band member! Ha ha ha …

In the words of Mac Powell …
“There’s a light at the end of this tunnel!”
I would just like to share with you that I’ve had crazy, awful computer problems for the last few weeks (thank you Conficker worm!). It’s been a circus just trying to get my day-to-day stuff done and I’ve whined so much to the whole office about it … because that’s how I roll … that they haven’t been able to get anything done either. This morning it looks like my world is all back in order and now I have my computer back, all healthy and in one piece! Hoorah! I am so thankful!
Just sharin’

Bangor News for Your Weekend …
… and some other stuff too!
- The Kenduskeag Canoe Race might slow down traffic in some areas of Bangor. It won’t be on TV this year so I would guess that more people will go see it for themselves. Find out what spots to avoid around town on Saturday here.
- The Annual Bangor Home Show is on!
- If you’re looking to get out of town this weekend (but you don’t want to go too far) you could always try visiting … Rockland? Yup. It was voted the second coolest small town in the country in a contest for Budget Travel magazine. I grew up in Thomaston, so I get a huge kick out of this. If you DO go to Rockland anytime this summer make sure you grab a hot dog at Wasses. I do not care if you’re on a diet or if you never eat hot dogs … these are totally worth it. Side note: I used to work there. I seriously cut onions for an hour and a half everyday for a whole summer when I was 14 or 15. If a really nice woman named Bea takes your hot dog order, tell her I sent you!
Have a great weekend! Let me know if you find anything fun to do!

PS – Oh yeah! I almost forgot to tell you that if you missed “The Way We Get By” (the movie about the Bangor Troop Greeters) you’ll be able to catch it all around Maine this summer. My sister and her husband went to see it and she said “It’s a movie everyone, every where should watch.” I’ve never heard her say that before. I need to check it out myself.
